About 1-800-DIAL-A-CAR

1-800-DIAL-A-CAR began just three years ago. In, 2006, Founder, James Armstrong, noticed an unserved market and a strong demand for customers with damaged credit. Banks would not give loans to this market segment of car buyers and those who did, charged outrageous interest rates that the customer could not afford. Often times “Buy Here Pay Here” stores offer financing for their customers at rates as high as 30% a year and for vehicles with high mileage and in disrepair. James Armstrong, a graduate of the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University with a Finance Degree, started crunching the numbers.

James Armstrong devised the Rent-To-Own Program which allows anyone, regardless of credit, to rent a car on a month-to-month basis. The payments work out to about $10-$15 per day. There is an origination fee that typically ranges from $1,000-$1,500. There is no obligation for the customer to continue renting . Rent –To-Own is a month –to-month rental contract and the customer can walk away at any time with no penalty or without further damaging their credit. If the customer chooses to purchase the vehicle there is a purchase option where the customer can own the vehicle and 1-800-DIAL-A-CAR will apply all of the rental payments to the purchase price.

Since its inception in 2006, 1-800-DIAL-A-CAR and its RENT-TO-OWN Program have continued to grow in leaps and bounds. The tough economic times and an unprecedented foreclosure rate has had a negative impact on credit ratings for a lot of folks. Coupled with the Banks’ lack of willingness to lend money in general, 1-800-DIAL-A-CAR has become a viable option for many.

Because of the increasing demand, In the summer of 2009,
1-800-DIAL-A-CAR has begun accepting applications from dealers nationwide to become 1-800-DIAL-A-CAR affiliates. By the summer of 2010 we hope to have presence in all major cities across the country.
